Successful eAcademy Fundraiser Get Your Head Out of the Clouds

Thank you to all those who attended our “Get Your Head Out of the Clouds” fundraiser this month! 194 tickets sold! And, we enjoyed spending the evening with each and every one of you! It was a great discussion on the cloud industry offering a peek into the future as the world goes digital and moves faster than ever before. Attendee learned more about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it will affect their industries, the pros and cons to the ChatGPT phenomenon, and how “native digitals,” those born and brought up during the age of digital technology, are turning the business world upside-down.

We’d like to take a moment to again thank our wonderful MC’s, our keynote speaker, our moderator, our panelists, and our photographer for the evening!

Student MC’s: Anna Kavulla, PHAA High School and eAcademy Class of 2023; Joe DeRaleau, Union High School and eAcademy Class of 2023.

Keynote Speaker: Bob Evans, Founder & Principal of Cloud Wars and Co-Founder & Analyst at Acceleration Economy

Moderator: Dr. Tiffany Petricini, Assistant Teaching Professor in Communications at Penn State Shenango and Program Coordinator of the Penn State Eastern Corporate Communication Consortium.

Panelists: Mr. Dave Tomko, Teacher and Robotics Coach in the Sharon City School District; Dr. Dima Rabadi, Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity Information Sciences & Technology at Penn State Shenango; Mr. Tom McKinley, Chief Technology Officer of OhanaLink Technologies; Mr. AJ Hammond, Ethical Hacker at RSM US LLP (eAcademy Class of 2018).

Photographer: Lucio Chrestay of Lucio Chrestay Photography, Sharpsville High School and eAcademy Class of 2023.

An additional Shout Out to the Sharon Tiger Techs for joining us at the “Get Your Head Out of the Clouds” fundraiser. Not only was their coach, Dave Tomko, on our panel but his Sharon Robotics Teams led some live demonstrations with their robots during our networking hour.

It was wonderful to meet more of our community’s young talent!

And, finally, we’d like to extend our gratitude to our sponsors this year! With the help of our Bronze, Silver, Gold, & Platinum Sponsors combined with our individual ticket sales for the fundraiser, were able to raise a little over $30,000 to propel the eAcademy program into its 10th year! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
