MOUNT UNION SENIOR AJ HAMMOND DISCUSSES CYBERSECURITY AND PROTECTING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

news 1

Thank you to 2015 eA alumni, AJ Hammond, for discussing the importance of protecting your Intellectual Property with the current class of eA students!

AJ is currently in his last year of his Bachelor’s program at the University of Mount Union in Alliance, OH. His major is Computer Science and Network Security and his minor is Japanese Language. Previously, he was a former professional Halo Sports player and is now the current collegiate Halo eSports player for the University of Mount Union. He was actually tasked with getting the program started at Mount. He is working as the Security, Privacy, and Risk Consulting intern (& incoming 2022 Associate) at RSM US, LLP East Cleveland, and is pursuing OSCP certification.

He stopped by the eAcademy to speak with students about his work in cybersecurity and why protecting your Intellectual Property (IP) is so important. IP is one of the most valuable assets for startups when it comes to transforming ideas and innovations into real market value and one of the major things that investors look for in a startup. AJ discussed common IP traps and how to avoid IP theft in business. He showed us just how easy it is for professional hackers to infiltrate weak security systems with a live hacking demo!
