I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity I have had as an intern at the eCenter.  At the beginning of the summer I wanted to learn more about start-up companies and make connections and friends that would last a lifetime.  Through the last ten weeks, all of that has happened.  I truly feel that many of us felt like one large family.  I felt comfortable talking to most of the people I’ve worked with about anything.  This goes to show, that the eCenter environment along with the people that work there, are very welcoming, friendly and genuine individuals.  Google Time at the eCenter was extremely beneficial for me.  It started by me exploring sports facilities but then quickly changed to researching men’s fashion.  Yvonne and I were talking about Tom’s Shoes one day in her office, when she saw my face light up while talking about the philanthropic side to the business.  From there on out, I’ve never looked back.  Figuring out a way to dive into the fashion industry while giving to those in need is where my focus is.  Also, thanks to Rooted Beauty for paving the way and showing others how a philanthropic side can benefit the business and others.  Simon Sinek said, “People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.”  This is a quote that has stuck with me, and benefits those businesses that are doing it for the right reasons.  A special thanks to Yvonne and Kyle for making the eCenter a fun work environment.  From the time I read the application, I knew that it was going to be a fun job.  We were allowed to act ourselves, be creative, wear gigantic headphones, blast music, use the chairs for transportation, have a sense of humor, and have many other liberties that most people don’t have.  I’m extremely thankful for the opportunity they gave us, and for creating a place that will always feel like home.  The summer of 2013 will go down as one where Sean Zippie became more knowledgeable about start-up companies, gained real world work experience and started to see the path he wanted to take.  With the internship officially over, I don’t say goodbye to the eCenter, because I believe my relationship with it is just starting.  Peace and Love eCenter@LindenPointe, Peace and Love!
