eCenter@LindenPointe Entrepreneurs Visit Neshannock High School
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
HERMITAGE, PA – Local entrepreneurs visited Neshannock High School on June 4 to encourage students to pursue their passions through new business ventures. The entrepreneurs, Sharon Seiter and Kim (Peterson) Garrett are the founders of Rooted Beauty; an all-natural skincare company committed to high quality products, sustainable packaging and helping to deliver women from the bondage of poverty and trafficking.
Seiter, 21, and Garrett, 24, are both recent graduates of the Grove City College Entrepreneurship Department. They explained that their business began as an idea they developed while in college, and have aggressively pursued since graduation. Their company is located in the eCenter@Lindenpointe.
Garrett, an alumnus of Neshannock High School said: “it was great being able to talk to students who were in the same place I was five years ago and encourage them to pursue their passions and take risks. It was also great to be able to testify about the invaluable resources that this area offers through both Grove City College’s Entrepreneurship program and the start-up incubation program at the eCenter.”
Rooted Beauty showed students their first product, an all-natural lip butter packaged in an innovative eco-tube made of 100 percent post-consumer paper. They also answered a variety of student questions ranging from product manufacturing to the origin of their business venture.
The company first introduced their fruit-infused Lip Butters in early March at the Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, CA. Since then, Rooted Beauty has gained distribution in over two dozen stores nationwide, achieved a high volume of online sales and took first place in the Oh-Penn for Business regional business plan competition on April 22nd.
Locally, their Lip Butter products can be found at Natural Options in Grove City and Naturally Soergel’s in Wexford. The products are also available on the company website: www.rooted-beauty.com.
Seiter and Garrett are excited to see what the future holds and extremely grateful for the network of resources being provided to them through the eCenter@LindenPointe. During their time at Neshannock High School, they encouraged students to take advantage of such local resources and not to let fear keep them from pursing their dreams.
